ALPHA PHI IS A SISTERHOOD BUILT UPON INNOVATION FOR CHANGE, DEVELOPING AUTHENTIC CHARACTER WITHIN EACH OTHER, AND BEING GENEROUS IN OUR PHILANTHROPY
In 1956, Alpha Phi became one of the first women's fraternities to establish a Foundation. It was created as a trust agreement to award scholarships and promote cardiac aid. Today, the original priorities hold true in our five programs:
alpha phi foundation
heritage
leadership
scholarship
women's heart health
forget-me-not fund
red dress gala
The annual Alpha Phi Red Dress Gala is the most anticipated and exciting philanthropy event of the year. The Red Dress Gala serves as the signature Alpha Phi philanthropy event. At Rochester, every member's family is invited to celebrate with the chapter to raise money and awareness for women's heart health. The festivities include a silent auction, a live auction, raffles, guest speakers, fun & interactive games, and dinner. It is truly unbelievable seeing every woman in the chapter in a red dress come together for such an amazing cause.
alpha phifa
Alpha Phifa is a charity soccer tournament that our chapter hosts each Spring. Teams of 5-8 players compete with the hopes of being crowned the next Alpha Phifa champions. We have so much fun leading teams comprised of so many people from across different campus organizations.
Each December, Alpha Phi sells ugly holiday sweaters to raise money for the Alpha Phi Foundation. In the past we have held ugly sweater fashion shows as well as "Ugliest Sweater" competitions.

Each February, our chapter hosts a Heart Health Week. This week is dedicated to raising awareness about women's cardiac care. We sponsor a Zumba class called Move Your Phi't and a heart healthy lunch in Wilson Commons. We give away heart healthy goodie bags around campus, teach the basics of CPR, and sell teddy bears to donate to the cardiac care unit of Strong Memorial Hospital.

One of the most important aspects to being a member of Alpha Phi is having the opportunity to give back to the community. The women in our chapter are passionate not only about our national charity for Women's Heart Health, but also concerning many other important causes. We strive to support many different causes throughout our time here. Check out our involvement page to see what our sisters have been up to recently, such as volunteering at the local animal shelters and soup kitchens.
